It's only Ok. Solar charging isn't good.

Pros : 1. When it does record, it records. (i'll explain in the cons.) there would be times where i do catch the delivery man dropping off something about 85% of the time. 2. It's nicely designed but it is not by any means subtle if you want to hide it. It is like a small block and is pretty noticeable due to it being white but other than that, it does feel high quality and will last rainy or windy days. Haven't tested snowy days yet. 3.Night vision is not bad but if the subject is too far away, it looks grainy. Cons : 1. The recording isn't that great. MOST of the time, the subject might have left my detection zone already and i would see them leaving. This is with Optimal recording. Custom recording is a BIT better but the battery life drains too much. 2. Speaking about battery, the solar charging does NOT work very well with my unit. I have also provided proof that sunlight is not blocking my camera, and it is extremely strong. You can see the shadow cast under the camera meaning nothing is blocking it. I usually leave it on human detection, and my battery has a steady percentage drop. The charging is about 600-500 mAh average, but I lose more battery than i it charges via the sun. The second picture i have provided is a whole month's usage. The times where there is a spike in charging, is because i took it down to charge it. Solar charging is not good on this at all. 3. When you want to download a footage, YOU CANNOT leave the downloading page. You have to wait till it completes downloading or else you will have to restart the process all over again. If you have recorded a 2 minute video, it takes close to a minute or two to download sometimes which is unbearingly slow if you have a serious security issue you want to download. 4. Also when you're live viewing your camera, it WILL NOT record for you so you have to be quick with your recording button or else you will miss it. Might be a small thing because Eufy probably doesn't want you to double record, but it would be a nice feature to have just in case you have your hands tied and cannot press the recording button on time while live viewing. 5. If you do want to charge your battery via solar charging, your best bet is to choose "Optimal battery life" and AT MOST you will only get about a 4% charge at 500mAh. If you do choose this option though, you will miss about 98% of your events even if you have ALL MOTION selected because it will try its best to save battery. 6. Notifications goes off like crazy but i guess it's better than nothing. Sometimes the camera will detect a leaf moving, and will false alert you saying there is motion there. TECHNICALLY IT IS motion, but i expected it to at least have some filtering with plants and humans/animals. To conclude, I wish the solar charging worked. I took this camera down quite a lot to charge, and during those times I have missed events. Does it record? I guess yeah sure it does work as i do catch my mail being dropped off, but most of the time it's false alerts. Would i get it again? If it was cheaper than what i paid yes. Do I recommend it? Maybe if they fixed the battery charging yes I would. If not, you may need to go hard wired camera for better recording.
