Read, Great Strips With Mods
First, this is very important, if you have no maintenance training or are not handy with basic tools and/or not mechanically inclined and/or have someone you know that is, you will likely be disappointed with light blocking strips for your blinds or shades. Unless you order directly from the manufacturer who made your shades or blinds. Second, the Berissa light blocking strips are awesome! They give you almost everything you need and some case's you might have everything you need in the box. For the price and all the comes in the box you can not beat the price and quality of these strips. Third, realize you are not going to pull everything out of the box and read the instructions and just assemble these strips and they are not going to fit perfectly and block every bit of light unless there's some modification done and just realize every single shade is not the same. The instructions are okay but can be confusing looking at the pictures and they don't give you a lot of verbage telling you what to do with the stuff, but you have to think outside the box. There is no way they can write instructions for everyones type of shades or blinds. Fourth, I found the fuzzy mole hair strips that is loose in the box where you can peel and stick it wherever you want. They look like they have them sticking to the smaller side of the light blocking strip. I did not put it there. I used it vertically and put it in the center of my up down blinds. Maybe you can see in the pictures but that is the part that I thought blocked out all the remaining light after I had the plastic light blocking strips screwed to the sides of the window framing. Yes, I screwed the strips to the side instead of just using the pre installed adhesive tape. My surface wasn't completely 100% smooth as glass so yeah you could probably get by with the tape if the right surface. But another thing, after I screwed the strips to the sides I used white paintable window caulking just to seal any bit of light that was coming through. My final thoughts, these light blocking strips are awesome. Yes, you can just stick them to the side of the wall outside of your window. Just past your blinds but I thought the screws held them tighter and also I used the caulking. I thought that covered any bit of light that was shining through. Also, depending on your blinds the strips of mole hair, the fuzzy strip you might have to place it at different parts either on the strip or framing to prevent any type of sunlight coming through. But hopefully you can see from my pictures before and after these strips blocked all the light out. And like I said before that one strip that's going down vertically in between the center part of where my up down blinds go. That seemed to block any little bit of light that was coming through before I stuck that on the wall.
